Splitzen or spear is a conventional type of lightning rod, this splitzen has a passive protection system (waiting for lightning strikes). Splitzen has a shape like a tapered spear at the top, generally at the bottom of the splitzen there is a threaded thread structure and a hole for inserting the conductor cable. To fasten the conductor cables (BC, NYY, NYA, etc.) this splitzen uses the bolts that have been provided in the splitzen structure. Here is a picture of the bottom part of a conventional lightning rod spit.
Splitzen Bottom Structure
This conventional lightning rod has various types of materials and sizes, in the picture above is a 1 inch splitzen with an actual diameter of 25mm, the spear length is 50 cm. Generally, for splitzen it is used in sizes 5/8 inch and 3/4 inch with varying lengths from 30cm to 1 meter high. Even so, there are still many projects that use a 1 inch size, because the thicker the splitzen diameter, the conductivity and the electric current receiving power from a lightning strike the better.
In addition to the above specifications, we also provide other sizes of lightning rod splitzen, besides that we also provide other material splitzen such as copper coated brass, stainless steel spit, etc. If you want to consult the needs of a lightning rod project, please contact us at the number listed on the website.
