How to Install Lightning Strike Counter :

Lightning strike counters are very easy, because usually lightning counters are installed by simply inserting a cable that is connected to the lightning rod to grounding. Here's how to install a lightning strike counter :

1. Prepare a lightning strike counter of your choice
2. Make sure the lightning rod head terminal is installed and connected with the cable perfectly
3. Make sure you have determined a place for this strike counter
4. Place a lightning counter under the SPD cable or under a lightning rod conductor
5. loosen the screw nut on the back of the lightning rod, spring washer and gasket flat, remove the clamp, to place the SPD power ground wire and / or the lower conductor rod portion of the lightning rod between the two screw nuts, then attach the press plate, flat gasket, washer spirng, nut nuts, tighten the two nuts bolts
6. pay attention to the power SPD ground wire or the installation diagram and the bottom conductor wiring (bareness of the lightning rod part and the mounting plate, pressure plate. the contact segment must be well connected to a low contact resistance, to ensure the accuracy of the counting is only reference, of a kind)
7. Pull the wire into the grounding system
8. Just a tip for the grounding system, make sure the ground resistance is below 3 ohms
9. Done

HOW TO CARE OF LIGHTNING COUNTER :

Actually there is no special care for type of lightning strike counter water proofing. However, each time you should check the SPD power ground wire or the basement section of the lightning rod, to see if the contact segments are properly connected or not. If the down conductor is non-oxidizing or corroded, it will affect the lightning count.

If there is no display on the screen, or the screen is not clear, remove the four screws and open the cover, replace the battery inside to the battery of the same model.

This is done in order to prevent lightning counter errors or something else that is not desirable.
